  • Summer Camp Counsellor

    Position Summary
    Camp counsellors are a vital part of HSC Summer Camps. Counsellors will work with children ranging from age 4 to age 14 in their assigned camp. Counsellors will provide a fun and safe environment, implementing daily programming, providing supervision, and actively engaging with campers.
    Responsibilities
    • Facilitating the day-to-day programming at HSC summer camps
    • Maintaining supervision and actively engaging with campers
    • Completing basic daily administrative tasks
    • Use appropriate behaviour management techniques to support campers
    • Communicate effectively with other camp staff, parents and camp manager
    Qualifications
    The successful candidate should have:
     
    • Experience working with children
    • Experience facilitating activities for children
    • Great communication skills
    • A warm and outgoing personality
    • Willingness to adapt and problem-solve
    • Minimum availability of June 16th to August 22nd

  • Summer Camp Lead Counsellor

    Position Summary
    A Lead Counsellor will be responsible for the planning and day-to-day operations of their assigned camp and the counsellors assigned to each camper group within the camp. They will take an active role in planning the activities, role-modelling appropriate behaviour, problem-solving, and engaging with the campers. The Lead Counsellor will communicate effectively with parents, camp staff and the camp manager.
    Responsibilities
    • Planning and facilitating the day-to-day programming at HSC summer camps
    • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality programming
    • Maintaining supervision and actively engaging with camp groups
    • Completing necessary administrative paperwork
    • Proactively setting up the environment for the success of all campers
    • Role modelling appropriate behaviour management techniques to support campers and camp counsellors
    • Communicate effectively with other camp staff, parents and camp manager
    • Taking the lead on attendance reporting and procedures.
    Qualifications
    The successful candidate should have:
     
    • At least 2 years of experience in a camp environment
    • Great communication skills
    • Experience planning and facilitating programming for children ages 4-13
    • Ability to work independently and problem-solve
    • Previous experience in a leadership role
    • Minimum availability of May 26 to August 22nd

  • Culinary Camp Lead

    Position Summary
    The Culinary Camp Lead will plan and facilitate “The Culinary Academy” summer camp. They will guide campers through hands-on cooking experiences, nutrition education, recipe creation and other camp activities. The Culinary Camp Lead will teach practical cooking skills, and foster an engaging camp learning environment that encourages exploration of food and learning new skills.
    Responsibilities
    • Develop and implement age-appropriate programming focused on culinary skills, nutrition, food safety, and cooking theory.
    • Lead in kitchen activities, demonstrating techniques and guiding campers in preparing recipes.
    • Teach basic kitchen safety and hygiene practices, ensuring campers follow all safety protocols.
    • Manage the preparation and organization of ingredients, tools, and equipment before and after sessions.
    • Ensure the kitchen facility is clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
    Qualifications
    The successful candidate should have:
     
    • Proven experience in culinary arts, food education, or related fields
    • Experience working with children ages 8-13
    • Strong knowledge of food and kitchen safety
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and adapt to the dynamic environment of a summer camp
    • Minimum availability is from July 7th to August 20th.

  • Head Start Teacher

    Position Summary

    Head Start teachers will plan and teach a full week of camp August 18-22, 2025. The Head Start camp program is designed to help campers refresh and strengthen their academic skills in preparation for the upcoming school year. Head Start teachers will create fun and engaging programming that reviews key educational concepts and foundational skills appropriate to the grade level of the campers. Head Start teachers will help campers foster a love of learning and confidence for the year ahead.

    Responsibilities
    • Develop and implement engaging programming tailored to the grade levels and learning needs of the campers
    • Teach core academic skills including literacy, numeracy and problem-solving strategies.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive environment where campers are excited to learn
    • Provide feedback on each camper’s experience and learning at the end of the week
    Qualifications:
    • Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) in good standing. New grads welcome!
    • Experience working with children aged 4 to 10
    • Strong classroom management skills
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and adapt to the dynamic environment of a summer camp
    • Minimum availability of August 18-22

  • Supply Early Childhood Educators 

    Position Overview: 
     
    The Supply Early Childhood Educator will be available for daily and long term assignments. They will collaborate with classroom teachers and assist in delivering a program that enhances children’s cognitive, physical, social, spiritual and emotional development.

    Qualifications:
    • 2 year community college Early Childhood Education Diploma with experience in a childcare or educational setting;
    • Member in Good Standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators;
    • Knowledge of Ministry of Education full day early learning kindergarten program;
    • Experience in planning and implementing age appropriate programs;
    • Knowledge of related legislation and pertinent Board policies and directives such as, but not limited to Administration of Medication and/or Special Services
    • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with children, parents, staff and the general public;
    • Strong organizational and management skills
    • Demonstrate knowledge of classroom management
    • One year of experience as an ECE in a childcare centre and Early Learning Program is preferred; however, new graduates are welcome to apply
    • Current certificate in First Aid and CPR
