  • Communications Coordinator – Digital Media (contract)

    Position Overview: 

    Reporting to the Manager, Communications, the Communications Coordinator – Digital Media portfolio is responsible for photography, videography, graphic design and updating content on the HSC website, various multimedia channels and digital publications in support of the College’s mission.

    Responsibilities:

    Videography
    • Coordinates video shoot schedules, including the supervision of outsourced videos.
    • As the official College video editor, collaborates with the Communications Team to capture, edit, render and finalize video projects in support of the College’s mission.
    • Cuts and edits engaging micro segments to use on social media platforms to engage the College community, grow and promote the College.
    • Ensures all videos have closed-captioning.
    Photography
    • Under the direction of the Manager, Communications, delivers on specific photography needs identified by each School (Montessori, Junior, Middle & Senior).
    • As the official College photographer, attends or arranges coverage of all College events.
    • Formats and uploads appropriate photo galleries to the online website for the College community. 
    • Edits photos where necessary: i.e. adding people into existing photos, creating poster designs for school musicals.
    • Captures photos and videos for use on social media within a tight turnaround time.
    Graphic Design
    • Develops digital adaptations of print publications for posting online.
    • Under the direction of the Manager, Communications creates forms, templates, logos, ads, business cards, brochures, displays, signage, and various other materials for web/digital production.
    • Coordinates logistics relating to print requirements, posters, banners, and any other materials to increase the College’s profile and promote College activities.
    • Creates and designs invitations, media screens, signage and other materials as required.
    Website
    • Works closely and collaboratively with the Advancement & Communications Team, as well as the Admissions team to support website updates for the College. 
    • Maintains brand consistency.
    • Maintains resource boards and groups on the College intranet (myHSC).
    Other
    • Scanning archival materials, as needed, to convert to digital format. 
    • Assists Communications team with social media; capturing photos, creating content, scheduling and posting.
    • Supports Advancement team at College events.
    • Discretion in the use of information is required.
    • This role requires some evening and weekend work and potentially regional travel. 
    Qualifications
    • Three-year Diploma or Degree in Digital Media, Social Media, Digital Photography and
    • Videography, Interactive Media, Marketing, Broadcasting or relevant fields.
    • Highly creative with the ability to take current trends in digital marketing and apply them to the goal of student recruitment and brand awareness.
    • Experience with Adobe software (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Lightroom) or other industry-standard software to create compelling graphics, photos, videos (including
    • animation) and other digital materials as assigned.
    • Strong technical knowledge of web design and development, including HTML, and platforms
    • such as Blackbaud or WordPress.
    • Strong knowledge of social media applications, notably Hootsuite.
    • Strong communications skills, both verbal and written.
    • Strong organizational skills to help with digital asset management, including systematized tagging and ordering functionality.
    • Ability to work on multiple projects through all stages of production.
    • Ability to work within a team environment and take direction from multiple stakeholders.
    • Prior experience working within an educational (school) setting within the independent school market is considered an asset.
    Salary Range: Band 4: $44,559-$66,639

  • School Bus Drivers (full-time)

    School Bus Driver Position Overview:
    We are currently recruiting bus drivers for our transportation department. It is an hourly position with a 5-hour daily average. Charter work is also available. Uniforms will be provided. Drivers earn $24.80 per hour and benefits after 3-month probation.

    Qualifications:
    The successful candidate should have:
    - “B” license and recent abstract
    - Have at least 3 years of driving experience
    - Hold a valid (non-probationary) driver’s license and an excellent driving record
    - Be dependable, caring and committed to safety
    - Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening

  • Supply Early Childhood Educators 

    Position Overview: 
     
    The Supply Early Childhood Educator will be available for daily and long term assignments. They will collaborate with classroom teachers and assist in delivering a program that enhances children’s cognitive, physical, social, spiritual and emotional development.

    Qualifications:
    • 2 year community college Early Childhood Education Diploma with experience in a childcare or educational setting;
    • Member in Good Standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators;
    • Knowledge of Ministry of Education full day early learning kindergarten program;
    • Experience in planning and implementing age appropriate programs;
    • Knowledge of related legislation and pertinent Board policies and directives such as, but not limited to Administration of Medication and/or Special Services
    • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with children, parents, staff and the general public;
    • Strong organizational and management skills
    • Demonstrate knowledge of classroom management
    • One year of experience as an ECE in a childcare centre and Early Learning Program is preferred; however, new graduates are welcome to apply
    • Current certificate in First Aid and CPR
