Providing a safe, secure and welcoming home environment where students can be successful is the first priority of HSC’s homestay program. To ensure this, HSC works with The Canada Homestay Network (CHN) to place students aged 14 and up with host families in the local area accessible by HSC’s network of private buses. Every family who joins our homestay program must pass a rigorous screening process by CHN.
Students who are not living with a parent in the country are mandated to become a part of the CHN host family program. Family friends are welcome to apply to host an HSC student through our CHN program.
Once a student is placed with a family, supervision and support are provided by CHN's Relationship Manager 24 hours a day. The HSC International Student Specialist also works with students at school to ensure that homestay accommodations are meeting their needs.
HSC has high expectations for host families and is fortunate to have worked with our families for many years. Our students say that the host family program is a wonderful opportunity to develop life-long friendships with someone of a different culture.
